Only because I am planning to do 100 of them. Here is my TOP 20! I have been to New York twice before, but I want to do these again! LET'S DO IT!

3. Have tea at the Plaza
4. Go to Dylan’s Candy Bar
5. Go to Coney Island
6. See the Macy’s Fireworks on Fourth of July
7. Visit Serendipity
8. Watch a Broadway musical (or more)
9. Find a Gossip Girl cast member
10. Go back to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty
11. Attempt to watch an NYC baseball game and enjoy it
12. Eat a genuine NYC hot dog
13. Eat a genuine NYC pizza
14. Back to Macys please!
15. Find the Vogue offices and stare... maybe Anna Wintour will walk out!
16. Visit the WTC memorial
17. Attend a Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral
18. One word: ZOO!
19. Waldorf Astoria, please
20. Visit MOMA

& that's only 20! You can visit more of things to do here! I have 38 in total so far! WOOHOO!

@allisonmdans's 20 "Musts" for NYC Summer 2011

So, in honor of our upcoming sojourn into the big city, inspired by the lovely Hilary Shepherd's (@theHBS) blog of the same topic, I thought it would be fun for all the girls and I to make lists of the top 20 things we want to do, see, or experience in NYC, and then compare notes. I'm fortunate in that I've visited NYC 3 times before, so I've done most of the super-touristy things. I can't wait to hit the next level. Anyway, I'm sure there are more than 20 for everyone... But here are the ones I've got so far!

1. Go to Topshop (I've done this before, but once is NOT enough). I anticipate about a trip a week...
2. Hang out with Leandra Medine (@manrepeller on twitter). She's my inspiration.
3. Learn the subway system like the back of my hand. I found an umbrella at modcloth.com with a map of it! I think I'm going to need to be purchasing that ASAP. Who cares if I look like a weirdo walking around with an umbrella when it's sunny? I WILL NEVER BE LATE.
4. Eat in the famed Conde Nast cafeteria. "You do know cellulite is one of the main ingredients in corn chowder?"
5. Stalk fashion's elite (Wintour, Lagerfeld, Coddington, Leibowitz)
6. Visit The Museum of Sex, The Museum of Modern Art, and the cutting edge kid sister of MoMA, the P.S.1 (which also, awesomely hosts a free weekly dance party and, duh, shares a name with Proenza Schouler's It Bag).
7. Buy a pair of Louboutins (not necessarily new).
8. Eat at Serendipity (again). Because, like Topshop, once is never enough!
9. Spend at least one afternoon lounging and people-watching in Central Park.
10. Go to a great Broadway show (perhaps Rock of Ages?). I haven't seen one since Beauty & The Beast in 5th grade.
11. Attend a movie premiere (preferably one with a red carpet involved). Sneaking in counts.
12. Befriend a celebrity. Seeing as my placement in the alliances department puts me in direct contact with the faces of the brand, I've got my eye on Ashley Greene ;)
13. Take a class (or a hundred) at Soul Cycle. Nicole Miller says it's swimming with fashion people!
14. Meet. Gwyneth. Paltrow. Or possibly just mumble gibberish at her.
15. Go to Shakespeare in Central Park (preferably both plays). It's free in case you didn't know!
16. Go to the epic Buffalo Exchange that my darling Rachel Martino constantly raves about.
17. Check out Dean & DeLuca, Whole Foods, and Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola in Time Warner Center.
18. Check out a Woody Allen retrospective or some other such magnificence at The Film Forum.
19. Try on (and fondle) something by Alexander McQueen...preferably at Bergdorf Goodman.
20. Go to a show at The Bowery Ballroom.

So there's my 20 :) I'm sure I'll discover endless other things I want to do as soon as I arrive, not end up doing half of the things on this list, and have a million experiences I could never have imagined. But writing the list was a great way to get me even more excited about my impending move!

Meet Lauren, Sales & Communications Intern!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Lauren Perciballi, and just like the title of this post suggests, I will be the Sales & Communications Intern for mark. this summer! To read more about my personal/professional background, please click HERE.  Let me begin with saying how extremely BLESSED I feel to have been given the opportunity to intern for this wonderful company! mark. is a leading brand in the beauty & fashion world, and I can't think of a more rewarding way to infuse my teaching credentials in the industry that I love! I became a mark. Representative in January of 2010, after watching a video from meetmark's website about all the perks of becoming a rep! I was just beginning graduate school, and wanted a way to make some extra cash while having to go to school & student teach full time.  Since then, mark. has implemented there Mentor Program, which allocates highly successful mark. reps to "mentor" groups of other reps in different regions of the United Sates.  I am a proud member of mark.'s Current Number 1 Team in the Nation, Gail's team in the North-East Region! It wasn't until I "met" my mark. Mentor Gail, that I felt was part of a sisterhood! Anytime I felt confused about something, needed reassurance, or wanted to make a "game plan" to reach a sales goal, my mentor Gail has been there for me.  It was Gail & my teams support that has aided me in winning one of mark.'s wonderful sale's incentives--an ALL expenses paid to trip to there National Conference here in New York City! At this event, I will get hands on business training, as well as attend "Beauty Bootcamps" to increase my knowledge to be a better mark. Representative & overall Makeup Artist! This experience will definitely give me even more tools to get my customers excited about what mark. has to offer!

A little about the Internship Program:  The internship begins June 5th and ends August 12th. There are usually about 11 or 12 mark. interns every summer, but this year-- out of hundreds in the nation who applied for the position, mark. selected the eight of us! This means that some of us might have combined positions, such as me being the intern for both the Sales & Communications Departments.  Every mark. Intern is also assigned a "mentor" which is someone from the department in which there working in, who will guide them through there internship and culminating project to be presented at the end of the ten week internship!  Since it's so in advance, I don't know exactly what I will be doing project wise for my internship, but I know my position entails in developing educational material for other mark. representatives across the country--which sounds amazing! Would you like to become a mark. Intern next summer? Then read our Internship Tab, or go to meetmark.com!

The day I found out I got the job for this internship, I set out to find who else got the job, so that we can become friends on Facebook! I think it's great that we can get to know each other "virtually" months before we begin out internship in June.  I made a closed group for us on FaceBook so that we always have a place to chat and get in touch with one another, and I set up this blog as well for us to document our experiences.  Think I'm excited about this?! =)

Some facts about me: I was born, raised, and still reside in Brooklyn, New York!  I'll be 25 on May 23rd, and I am an only child.  I am a Freelance Makeup Artist & Licenced Teacher holding my masters degree in Early Childhood Education.  I am the only intern in mark.'s program who is from New York, and I look forward to showing my future mark. sister's around my hometown & getting to know them better!

I cannot wait to to get to know the seven other interns better, and begin this position!
